Prostate cancer (PCa) diagnosis is considered one of the modern frontiers in Urology. This is primarily due to several critical aspects, including the multifocality and clinical behavior of the tumor, the characteristics of patients at apparent clinical risk for developing cancer, and the appropriate use of modern technologies currently employed in PCa diagnosis. Multiparametric MRI interpretation plays a crucial role in this process, as do the methods used for prostate fusion biopsy. For these reasons, Focal Therapy should be viewed as the “next step” in treatment, owing to its limited invasiveness and safety profile.
The objective of this Masterclass is to prepare the next generation of Urologists to address the emerging minimally invasive techniques for the diagnosis and treatment of PCa. While these techniques are currently applicable only to selected patients, they are expected to be used more broadly for all patients with a pathological diagnosis of low- and intermediate-risk prostate cancer in the future.
